Your First Visit – What To Expect

Our goal is to make your first visit as informative as possible with a one to one consultation with the doctor.  During this preliminary consultation we will evaluate and explain your diagnosis and any treatment options available.  We will create a treatment plan especially built for you and your unique dental issues and needs. We will also set up the required scheduled appointments to complete your oral surgery and maxillofacial procedures.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask our experienced staff. A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18.

On your first visit, please provide as much of the following information as you can:

  • Referral slip from your doctor or dentist.
  • Any X-Rays available.  Request they be forwarded to our office.
  • A list of your medications you are using.
  • Any medical or dental insurance information to allow us to process your claims.
  • Please complete our printable Patient Registration forms (available here). This will alert us to any medical conditions or medications you are taking prior to your surgery.

For patients receiving IV anesthesia, a pre-surgery consultation and examination are required.

We ask that you do not eat or drink for eight hours preceding your surgery.

Make sure you have arranged transportation for after your surgery.  Due to sedatives and/or anesthesia, it is not recommended to drive yourself home.
